AfriKhaya Housing Development Agency is a registered Non Profit Company (NPC) specifically created to deliver quality living environments with a particular focus on social housing. The Company is incorporated as a Non Profit Company (NPC), as defined in the Companies Act, 2008 (2). The Company is incorporated in accordance with, and governed by
AfriKhaya is a social housing institution i.e. a legal entity established with the primary objective of developing and managing housing stock that has been funded through the grant programs of the Social Housing Regulatory Authority and other participating entities.
AfriKhaya is a conditionally accredited Social Housing Institution
The key participants in the formation process were Ivan Steenkamp, Jim Badenhorst and Gordon Africa. These entrepreneurs have a passion for social development initiatives that run parallel to and also in tandem with their private businesses.
AfriKhaya aims to develop and manage property in the social housing market. In alignment with Goal 11 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), AfriKhaya aims at making the settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.
AfriKhaya projects will be characterized by the establishment of viable, socially and economically integrated communities that is located so as to provide convenient access to economic opportunities as well as health, educational and social amenities.
